Animated Gif's -Presentation

Here I am diving in to the world of Animated Gif's. It's definately different to anything i've done before.Trying to figure out what way to do this presentation and the best way to go about it. I had some idea's to take on a more hands on approach rather than just collecting knowledge, but it's hard to always know the best approach and still wanting to make sure you  get all the right things into a presentation.

First: What do we want people to think when they see this presentation? Are we going to have a lot of writing and telling them the in's and out's of Animated Gif's. Even though a presentation should never be just mainly writing,  or are we going to be practical and show what we've personally done and how we've found Animated Gif's. This was a big question what was the right way in doing this.

Second: What way do we split the work? Do we just give different chunks between the three of us and just focus on our own or we are all more involved in each-others work? Personally i've never worked in many group projects before and i find in group projects there are so may different opinions and voices it's hard at times to always agree on the best way of doing things, but thats the point of a group assignement.

Third: Looking at shaun's webpage we got inspiration for the content. Looking at web pages suggested on Animated Gif's helped use to obtain some knowledge.

This is definately different to anything i've done before and it's always easier to do things yourself instead of working in a team. Espically when it's people who you don't know the best. We can do this though. Team-work and all that!

First Mission-Animated Gifs

As I start to learn all about the nooks and crannies of Animated Gifs I thought I’d start this post to look back on. I’m excited to dive into this as it’s something many people use on a day to day basis when interacting with people. I'ts been around for years but doesn't seem like it. I only discovered gif's about a year ago and its something still very new to me personally.

My first Goal: Is to learn about the ins and outs of Gifs! Is this something that’s going to last long or will it die out just as soon as it started? I want to learn about where they started. What was the thought process behind it all and what other areas there possibly used in other than social media. This isn't something i ever thought i'd be doing an assignment on but it'll be interesting to see what i learn.

My Second Goal: Is to properly dive into it. I want to get my creative juices flowing as this is such a creative part in my eyes and I want to learn the different concepts and what’s involved in getting all of this done. I want to see the step by step process of Animated Gif's. I want to challenge myself in learning how to make them. I found theres a few simple apps and even discovered on instagram theres a tool to make gif's. It's something that's still so current even though its's been around for years. I’m eager to learn.

My Third Goal: Is to have fun! I sometimes have a tendency to take things to seriously and forget to actually enjoy myself. Yes this is something to take serious and learn but I want to prove to myself that this can be something done in a fun way and I’ve a feeling I’ll even learn something about myself and how I can handle assignments like this. I've been used to typing up essays and not having assignemnts so hands on where it not only for us to gather the facts but thats not the most important part. I'ts putting in the actual effort and having an end result. Let the fun begin.

Me

As a 22 year old that’s slightly awkward at times this whole thing about blog posts is slightly out of my comfort zone. Funny enough it’s actually something I’ve wanted to do for a while. Here we go anyway. What’s to know about me? As a girl from the sticks of Longford I guess I’d be considered a culchie and that’s something I’m okay with. Moved to Dublin wanting to find my passion and do things for myself and not because I had to do it or because my parents wanted me to. It’s only now I’m figuring out what that might be and it’s taken me some time and I’m still figuring it out. I’m 22 and went back to 1st year again and it was one of the most gut wrenching things I’ve done and I’m glad I did it so let’s see what the next 3 years has to offer.

Intro to Digital Media

Im writing this not knowing exactly where to start but I guess that happens in any course. Let the fun begin I guess.
